TIMELESS SAN FRANCISCO BAY WEDDING
After more than a decade of dating, Christine and RJ celebrated their wedding surrounded by loved ones on a windy September day overlooking the San Francisco Bay. Their Fort Baker wedding at Cavallo Point Lodge in Sausalito perfectly reflected their love for Northern California’s natural beauty and history.
As a San Francisco Bay Area wedding videographer, I’m always inspired by venues that feel distinctly local and hold meaning for the couple. Being from Sausalito, RJ knew he wanted a setting that showcased the iconic scenery of the Bay Area. And Cavallo Point - with its colonial revival architecture, sweeping Golden Gate Bridge views, and location on national parklands - was the perfect choice.
CLASSIC WHITE AND GREEN LAWN CEREMONY AT CAVALLO POINT
Their ceremony took place on the Mission Blue Lawn at historic Fort Baker, one of the most scenic wedding locations in the San Francisco Bay Area. Just as guests gathered, the fog began to lift — slowly revealing the iconic Golden Gate Bridge behind the ceremony site.
Framed by eucalyptus trees and timeless white, green, and baby blue florals, the setting felt both elegant and quintessentially Northern California.
Wanting a more intimate moment, Christine and RJ chose to exchange private vows and shed a few tears before the ceremony. Even so, during the ceremony Christine started feeling sentimental and teared up, causing her to ask for part of her traditional vows to be repeated. It was a super sweet and candid moment that added so much heart and levity to their wedding film.
ELEGANT CANDLELIT RECEPTION IN THE CALLIPPE BALLROOM
Following cocktail hour by the outdoor firepits, guests made their way into the Callippe Ballroom for an intimate, candlelit reception. Planner Made by Connie designed a refined high-low candle tablescape that echoed the timelessness of the soft blue, green, and white florals.
The vaulted ceilings and warm glow of layered candlelight created an intimate and cozy atmosphere for the reception portion of this cohesive San Francisco Bay wedding celebration.
Christine and RJ made their grand entrance and performed a choreographed first dance to “Let’s Stay Together” by Al Green. Later, Christine shared that RJ had choreographed the entire dance using a spreadsheet that mapped out each major moment of the song — a detail that felt perfectly on brand for two doctors who met in college.
After dinner, they listened to heartfelt toasts from their candlelit sweetheart table before making intentional table visits to hug and thank each guest. These genuine, unscripted, in-between moments often become some of the most meaningful footage in the wedding films I create.
GOLDEN HOUR PORTRAITS BENEATH THE ICONIC GOLDEN GATE BRIDGE
Although we didn’t get a colorful sunset, the overcast sky and coastal wind made for the most dramatic and chic portrait session for the lovebirds. Christine’s bridal cape catching the wind added movement and depth that was incredibly cinematic - that wind was a paid actress for sure!
As a wedding videographer who focuses on genuine moments, I always encourage couples to step away for a few quiet moments together. Those pockets of calm often lead to the most authentic footage — and I could tell Christine and RJ were fully present with each other in that space.
A MODERN CALIFORNIA WEDDING CELEBRATION
To open the dance floor, Christine embraced a modern wedding trend and tossed a Labubu blind box instead of a traditional bouquet — a playful twist that guests loved! Later in the evening, they served classic In-N-Out Burger as a late-night snack, complete with spread and all — a true California wedding touch.
From the Golden Gate Bridge backdrop to candlelit elegance and coastal wind, Christine and RJ’s Cavallo Point Lodge wedding encompassed everything that makes a timeless San Francisco Bay Area wedding.
I’m honored to have documented such a meaningful chapter in their love story. Cheers to their last decade of love - and to many more!
Christine and RJ had 8 hours of coverage and 2 videographers on their day. They added on a full toast and full first dance edit after wedding day.
